원동습지, 선제비꽃 Viola raddeana

 

꽃이 없는 초가을에 만난 선제비꽃. 갈대 숲에서 자라고 있어서 식물체 줄기가 연약한 상태로 씨방 흔적조차 발견할 수 없어 아쉬운 마음은 어쩔 수 없다. 꽃 피는 계절에 찾을 수 있기를~.

 

높이 70cm까지 자라는 대형종인데 왕제비꽃(V. websteri)에 비해 삼각상 피침형의 잎은 잎밑이 심장형이고 잎자루 윗부분에 날개가 있다. 중국 이름도 같은 뜻의 '입근채(立堇菜)'.

 

저지대 습지에서 갈대나 물억새와 같은 정수식물에 기대어 자란다. 러시아, 일본, 중국 북부에도 분포한다.

 

 

 

 

 

선제비꽃의 꽃

 

 

 

 

 

● 선제비꽃 Viola raddeana | Erect violet  ↘  목련강 제비꽃목 제비꽃과 제비꽃속 여러해살이풀 

줄기는 높이 30~50㎝이며 원줄기는 모여나기하고 털이 없으며 가늘고 곧게 서며 밑부분이 다소 흑색이다. 근경이 짧다. 잎은 어긋나기하고 삼각상 피침형이며 둔두이고 밑부분은 다소 심장저이며 길이 4~10㎝이고 밑부분의 폭이 1~3㎝로서 가장자리에 희미하고 둔한 톱니가 있다. 엽병은 길이 2~5㎝이며 탁엽은 녹색이고 길이 3~6㎝로서 큰 톱니가 있다.

꽃은 5~6월에 피며 길이 1㎝로서 연한 자주색이고 꽃자루는 액생하며 길이 5~10㎝이다. 꽃받침 조각은 피침형으로서 길이 5~6㎜이고 부속체는 밋밋하며 짧고 꽃잎은 길이 8~10㎜이며 측판에 자주색 줄이 있고 다른 꽃잎보다 짧으며 잔털이 약간 있고, 거(距)는 반구형이며 길이 1.5~2㎜이다. 열매는 삭과로 긴 달걀 모양이고 털이 없다.  <국가생물종지식정보시스템>

 

 

 

 

○ 경기 수원 지역에 자생하던 선제비꽃은 지금은 모두 자취를 감추었다. 현재 경남 양산 원동습지가 유일한 자생지로 알려지고 있었는데, 2021년 경기도 연천 습원 지역에서 자생 군락이 발견되었다. 약 300㎡ 면적에 꽃이 핀 50여 개의 성숙 개체가 자라고 어린 식물까지 포함하면 100개체 이상 생육하는 것으로 추정된다.
