각시붓꽃 Iris rossii

 

고향의 산에서 만난 각시붓꽃, 잎이 비교적 넓어 보여 넓은잎각시붓꽃(var. latifolia)이 아닐까 의심되기도 한다. 각시붓꽃은 비슷한 솔붓꽃이나 난장이붓꽃에 비해 화피통이 길이 5~7cm로 매우 긴 점으로 구별된다.

 

주로 한반도에서 나며 중국 만주(랴오닝)와 일본 남서부에 드물게 분포한다. 중국 이름은 '长尾鸢尾'(장미연미)

● 각시붓꽃 Iris rossii | Long-tail iris ↘  백합강 백합목 붓꽃과 붓꽃속 숙근성 여러해살이풀 

근경은 다소 모여나기하고 갈색 섬유로 덮혀 있다. 꽃이 필 때의 잎은 꽃대와 길이가 거의 같지만 꽃이 진 다음 자라며 길이 30㎝, 너비 2~5㎜로서 주맥이 뚜렷치 않고 뒷면은 분록색이며 가장자리 윗부분에 잔돌기가 있다.

꽃은 4~5월에 피고 꽃대 선단에 지름 3.5~4㎝로서 자주색이며 판통은 길이 4~6㎝이고 화경은 높이 5~15㎝로서 4~5개의 포가 있으나 가장 위의 포에서 1개의 꽃이 핀다. 포는 녹색이며 길이 4~6㎝로서 선형이고 예첨두이며 꽃자루는 길이 8㎜로서 씨방보다 길다. 외꽃덮이는 좁은 거꿀달걀 모양이고, 중앙부에 두드러진 돌기가 없으며 밑부분이 뾰족하고 내꽃덮이는 곧추서며 약간 짧다. 꽃밥은 황색이고, 길이 4㎜로서 수술대보다 짧으며 암술대는 3개로 갈라진 다음 다시 끝이 2개로 깊게 갈라진다. 삭과로서 구형이며 5~6월에 성숙하며 지름이 8㎜내외이다. <국가생물종지식정보시스템>

 

 

 

 

○ 꽃봉오리가 붓처럼 생겨서 '붓꽃'이라 부르며, 비 온 뒤의 무지개처럼 맑고 아름다운 꽃이어서 서양에서는 '무지개'를 뜻하는 '아이리스(Iris)'라 부른다. 각시붓꽃은 붓꽃보다 거의 한 달 앞서 꽃이 핀다. 각시붓꽃이 이른봄에 핀다면 붓꽃은 늦은봄에 피며 여름을 맞는다. 붓꽃이 낮은 지대에 피는데 비해 각시붓꽃은 산지 주변은 물론 산기슭과 능선에서도 핀다.
