갈퀴덩굴 Galium spurium, 전초와 꽃

 

소먹이풀로 흔히 이용했던 생명력 강한 꼭두서니과 갈퀴덩굴속의 잡초이다. 큰잎갈퀴에 비해 한해 또는 두해살이풀로 잎은 끝이 까락처럼 되고 꽃차례는 줄기 끝과 잎겨드랑이에 나오며 꽃부리는 연녹색인 점으로 구분된다.

 

남아메리카를 제외한 전 세계에 널리 분포한다.

● 갈퀴덩굴 Galium spurium var. echinospermum | stickwilly, false cleavers  ↘  목련강 꼭두서니목 꼭두서니과 갈퀴덩굴속 한두해살이풀

줄기는 식물체에 기대서 올라가고 네모가 지며 능선에 밑을 향한 잔 가시가 있다. 잎은 6~8개씩 돌려나기하고 좁은 피침형 또는 넓은 선형으로 길이 1~3cm, 나비 1.5~4mm이며 끝은 짧은 까락으로 끝나고 밑은 점차 좁아진다. 가장자리와 뒷면 주맥에 밑을 향한 잔 가시가 있다.

꽃은 5~6월에 연한 황록색으로 피고 가지 끝이나 잎겨드랑이에 취산꽃차례로 달린다. 꽃부리는 4개로 갈라지고 수술은 4개이다. 열매는 분과로 2개가 함께 붙어 있으며 갈고리 같은 딱딱한 털로 덮여 있어 다른 물체에 잘 붙는다. <국립수목원 국가생물종지식정보>

 

 

 

 

※ 갈퀴덩굴의 정명을 국립수목원은 Galium spurium var. echinospermum, 국립생물자원관에서는 기본종 Galium spurium으로 기록하고 있다.

 

 

○ 한방에서 7~9월에 전초를 채취하여 말린 것을 '산완두(山豌豆)'라 하며 약용한다. 진통, 이뇨, 해독, 소종 등의 효능을 가지고 있으며 멍이 든 피를 풀어주는 작용도 한다. 타박상을 입어 멍이 들거나 통증이 있는 경우에 치료약으로 흔히 쓰인다. 또한 신경통, 임질, 혈뇨, 장염 등을 다스리는 약으로도 사용되며 기타 악성종기와 종양을 치료하기 위해서도 사용한다. 달이거나 생즙을 내어 복용하고, 종기와 종양은 생잎과 줄기를 함께 짓찧어서 환부에 붙인다.
