눈개승마 Aruncus dioicus var. kamtschaticus

 

눈개승마는 한라개승마와 함께 장미과 개승마속의 여러해살이풀로 암수딴그루로 자란다. 울릉도에서 '삼나물'이라 불리는 맛있는 산나물로 재배되고 있다. 봄에 꽃이 피는 미나리아재비과 승마속의 눈빛승마와 꽃차례가 비슷하나 꽃 피는 시기와 잎 모양으로 쉽게 구별된다.

 

제주도를 제외한 전국에 나며, 중국 동북부, 일본, 러시아 동북부에 분포한다.종명 dioicus는 암수딴그루임을 나타낸다.

● 눈개승마 Aruncus dioicus var. kamtschaticus  ↘  장미목 장미과 개승마속의 여러해살이풀

높이 30∼100cm이다. 뿌리줄기는 나무처럼 단단하고 굵다. 잎은 어긋나고 긴 잎자루가 있으며 2∼3회 깃꼴겹잎이다. 작은잎은 막질(膜質:얇은 종이처럼 반투명한 것))이고 달걀 모양이며 끝은 뾰족하고 밑은 뭉뚝하다. 겹톱니가 있고 양면에 털이 없거나 잔 털이 난다. 길이 3∼10cm, 나비 1∼6cm이며 보통 윤이 난다.

꽃은 암수딴그루로 5∼8월에 노란빛을 띤 흰색으로 피며 원추꽃차례를 이룬다. 꽃차례는 길이 10∼30cm이고 짧은 털이 난다. 꽃받침은 끝이 5개로 갈라지고 꽃잎은 5개이며 주걱 모양이다. 수꽃은 20개의 수술이 있고 암꽃은 곧게 선 3개의 씨방이 있으며 암술대는 짧다. 열매는 긴 타원형의 골돌과로 10월에 익으며 아래로 늘어지는데, 익을 때 윤이 난다.

○ 눈개승마는 한라개승마와 함께 장미과 개승마속으로 미나리아재비과 승마속인 승마, 개승마, 왜승마, 눈빛승마, 세잎승마 등과는 이름만 같이 할 뿐 계통이 전혀 다른 식물이다. 그러나 얼핏 꽃차례가 비슷하게 보여 혼동하기 쉽다. 특히 눈개승마와 혼동하기 쉬운 눈빛승마(Cimicifuga dahurica)는 8월에 향기가 나는 흰 꽃을 피운다.
