쇠방동사니 Cyperus orthostachyus

 

검은 열매가 달리는 쇠방동사니를 오랜만에 만나본다. 화축에 털이 있고 열매가 익으면 검은색이 되는 점으로 화축에 털이 없고 열매가 갈색을 띠는 참방동사니, 방동사니, 금방동사니 등과 쉽게 구별된다.

 

우리나라 전역 논밭이나 습지에 자라는 방동사니속의 한해살이풀이다. 우리나라, 러시아 아무르, 다우리아, 일본, 중국 등 동북아시아에 분포한다.

● 쇠방동사니 Cyperus orthostachyus | upright-spike flatsedge  ↘  백합강 닭의장풀아강 사초목 사초과 방동사니속 한해살이풀 

줄기는 모여나며 높이 20~70cm이다. 잎은 선형, 폭 2~3cm이다. 잎집은 길고 갈색이다. 꽃싸개잎은 3~5개이고 길이는 서로 다르다.

꽃차례는 줄기 끝에 나며, 5~10개의 꽃대가 우산살 모양으로 갈라지고, 꽃대의 길이는 가장 긴 것은 20cm 정도, 털이 있다. 작은이삭은 선형, 납작하며 길이 5~10mm, 폭 1.5~2mm, 진한 갈색이고 보통 10~20(40)개의 꽃이 핀다. 비늘조각은 넓은 타원형, 길이 1.2~1.5mm, 끝은 둥글며 등 쪽에 5~7개의 뚜렷하지 않은 줄이 있다. 수술은 3개, 암술머리는 3개이다. 열매는 수과, 도란형이다. 7~10월에 꽃이 피고 열매가 익는다. <국립생물자원관 한반도의생물다양성>
