방동사니 Cyperus amuricus

 

금방동사니나 참방동사니는 흔해도 방동사니는 드물다고 하는데, 그 방동사니를 월악산 정상 능선에서 만난다.

 

열매를 감싸는 인편 끝이 돌출되지 않은 참방동사니, 인편이 곧고 짧게 돌출하는 금방동사니와 달리 방동사니는 인편 끝이 길게 돌출하고 뒤로 살짝 젖혀지는 점으로 구별된다고 한다. 꽃차례가 복생하지 않는 점도 특징이다.

높이 10-60cm이고 곧추자라며 여러 개 모여 난다. 잎은 뿌리에서 나오고 화경에서는 어긋나기하며 폭 2-6mm로서 선형이고 연하며 끝이 처진다.

꽃대는 삼각형이며 잎 사이에서 각 1개씩 나와 잎 같은 포가 달리고 길이가 같지 않은 가지가 갈라져서 각각 많은 소수가 달린다. 소수는 선형이고 편평하며 길이 7-12mm, 폭 1.5-2mm로서 퍼지고 8-20개의 꽃이 좌우로 나열되며 적갈색이다. 비늘조각은 넓은 거꿀달걀모양이며 길이 1.5mm로서 원두이고 주맥은 녹색이며 끝이 약간 뒤로 젖혀지고 뾰족하다. 암술대는 짧으며 끝이 3개로 갈라지고 수술은 2개이다. 수과는 거꿀달걀모양으로서 3개의 능선이 있고 흑갈색이며 흑색 잔점이 있다. <국생정 식물도감>
