큰참나물 Cymopterus melanotilingia

 

천마산 남쪽 능선에서 만난 큰참나물. 산형과의 여러해살이풀로 참나물과 닮은꼴이지만 줄기가 자줏빛을 띨 뿐만 아니라 자줏빛 꽃을 피워 자주참나물이라고도 불린다.

참나물처럼 향긋한 향기가 나지 않고 잎도 종이처럼 건조하고 질긴 듯한 질감을 가진다.

● 큰참나물 Cymopterus melanotilingia  /  미나리과 큰참나물속 여러해살이풀

높이 50∼100cm이다. 포기 전체에 짧은 털이 나고 줄기는 곧추서며 밑부분에 붉은빛이 돌고 가지가 갈라진다. 잎은 3장의 작은잎이 달리며 밑에서는 잎자루가 잎몸 길이의 2배 정도로 길지만 윗부분은 원줄기를 감싸는 잎집으로 된다. 끝이 뾰족하고 밑은 넓은 쐐기 모양이며 가장자리에 이 모양의 날카로운 톱니가 있다. 양면 맥 위와 가장자리에 잔털이 난다.

꽃은 8월에 흰색 또는 붉은빛을 띤 자주색으로 피며 줄기와 가지 끝에 산형꽃차례로 달린다. 작은이삭가지는 7개 정도이며 능선과 돌기가 있고 각 13개 정도의 꽃이 달린다. 총포와 작은총포는 바소꼴이고 꽃받침조각·꽃잎·수술은 5개씩이다. 열매는 분열과로서 납작한 타원 모양이고 뒷면에 3개의 낮은 능선이 있으며 가장자리에 얇은 날개가 있다.
